Daca Daguao Digital Design: Animation Studio Expansion

Animation Studio Expansion Into the Philippines and Studio-to-Studio Collaboration

The Animation Studio Expansion of Daca Daguao Digital Design is not just a change of mailing address. It's a shift in mindset. After the "We Are Moving" announcement back in November 2024, many asked: where are you moving? Today I can say that the move is, among other things, toward Southeast Asia.

Specifically, toward the Philippines. And this is not a full relocation (at least not yet), but a gradual expansion: establishing contacts, collaborating with local animation studios, and exploring joint creative projects.

Animation in the Philippines: a rising market

The Philippines has a growing animation industry. For years, many Filipino studios worked as subcontractors for major international productions. But now they're starting to create their own content. And I want to be part of that conversation.

That's why I've been making connections with small and mid-sized local studios. I can't share names or specific details yet – conversations are early. But the direction is clear: studio-to-studio collaboration, not isolated competition.

My idea is simple: what can we create together that neither could do alone?

An Animation Studio Expansion that is also expanding internally

The animation studio expansion is not just geographical. It's also structural. Daca Daguao Digital Design offers professional 3D animation services, modeling, web design, and architectural visualization. But to truly grow, I need two things:

  1. More talent – local artists in the Philippines and the US who want to collaborate.
  2. More original projects – like our first film, Traces Retraced.

And that's where everything connects.

Connection with the academy and the film

The academy I'm building (dacadaguao4d.academy) has a clear goal: to train future employees of the studio. When it opens on June 1, 2026, it will begin training artists in traditional plastic arts and modern digital arts. The best students could find their first job here.

And the film, Traces Retraced (traces-retraced.film), is our first major original project. A science fiction story exploring the pressures of conformity, social status, and quality of life – precisely the issues that led me to leave public schools and bet on this model.

A human touch: writing this from the Philippines

It's no accident that I'm writing this from the Philippines. The pace here is different. Slower. That allows me to think clearly. And yes, Tan-Vargas is by my side. She will be the queen who inherits my fruit – and who knows, maybe one day there will be little ones inheriting it alongside her. But that's a seed for another post.

The important thing is that after years of moves, losses, and restarts, the studio is moving in the right direction. Not with big announcements, but step by step. Contact by contact. Project by project.

What's next: collaborations, more services, and an academy feeding it all

In the coming months, I will announce specific collaborations with Filipino studios. We'll also continue offering our core services: 3D animation, modeling, web design, and soon AR/VR for product demonstrations.

And all of this, I insist, is fed by the academy. Because a studio is only as strong as the artists who form it. And I want to train mine.
